A Natal Chart or Birth Report is a snapshot in Astrology of where the planets and constellations were in the heavens at the time, place and date of your birth. You are a very unique individual. Rarely does another person have your same natal chart or birth report because they’d have to be born exactly to the minute where you were. The Natal Chart or Birth Report proves that.
A Natal Chart or Birth Report is calculated by having three exact items needed to cast a Horoscope Natal Chart or Birth Report. Those items are actually events and consist of the date of birth, time of birth and place of birth.
Most everyone knows their time of birth and thus can cast a Natal Chart or Birth Report or at least have someone familiar with Astrology do it for them. If you don’t know your time of birth then you may need to get your birth certificate. It should be there on the form. If you really can’t get the time but have a guesstimate then you can use that for your Natal Chart or Birth Report but four minutes makes a difference in your Ascendant.
Now let me tell you why your Ascendant is so important. The prominence for one of your most significant aspects is that of the Ascendant. Of course The Sun and The Moon are too but The Ascendant is found by the exact time you were born and the sun rose over the eastern horizon.
Your friends and family can tell you which part of your personality is the most prominent after being given your Sun, Moon and Ascendant because most people know what Sun Signs mean and can improvise in the meaning of all three. More than likely closest people to you will say you resemble your Ascendant more than anything when given the three biggies in your Astrology.
The Sun represents the image we give to the world. The Sun is our expression of self. It is our personality which others notice upon our initial meeting.
The Sun is always first to make the entrance when a person asks what your Zodiac Sign is. People think they have a way into your soul by knowing your Zodiac Sign but in truth you’re just getting started. Most don’t get involved enough to know more about the Zodiac. You can see that there are probably millions of people around the world who have your Sun Sign. So you know that you might have something in common with all of them but not everyone has your Natal Chart or Birth Report.
The Moon is the way we respond to situations on an instinctive level. It’s our secret selves. When a friend becomes more familiar with you they can probably pick your moon as well. Secrets come out with friends.
The Ascendant is how people see you when they get to know you though you’re a combination of all the aspects of your Natal Chart or Birth Report. Your Ascendant is generally the one who finds a lover. If other aspects of the Natal Chart or Birth Report are favorable then more power to you.
Here’s an example: One lover has Taurus Sun Sign, Gemini Moon and Aquarius Ascendant. The other lover has Libra Sun Sign, Aries Moon and Gemini Ascendant. It doesn’t look good for the lovers does it?
Well yeah it really does. Libra is one of Aquarius best lovers. Gemini to Gemini is great too. The only point of contention for these two is probably the Libra and Taurus Sun Signs but here it comes. Both are ruled by the planet Venus. Now there are other aspects in the Natal Chart or Birth Report to hurt or help the lovers match. So far this is a very good lover’s match but if you were going by just the Sun Sign you’d pass each other by. Have to take a chance sometimes.

Elements in the Natal Chart or Birth Report are keys to more in reading your personality. Too much or too little of the same Element can cause issues for the person born under the Natal Chart Birth Report or for friends and family who love them. These can create the challenges or encouragement for people’s lives and love.
The Fire Element is manifest by enthusiasm, impulsiveness, confidence and passion.
The Water Element is marked by emotions, private through and through, moody, sensitive, psychic and compassionate.
The Air Element is intellectual, detached (like the wind), curious, social and unemotional.
The Earth Element is stable, practical, cautious, reliable, conservative and realistic.
In the lovers example above you can see how Taurus (Earth) and Libra (Air) might not look favorable to each other but then you have the other signs. Both have Gemini (Air) which matches the Libra Air. Aquarius is Water. Aries is fire. There’s a good mixture here when feeding each other’s flames. These two lovers especially the Taurus has to watch putting a damper on the other.
Quality in a Natal Chart or Birth Report are important in the demeanor and demands made by the person you love or even know.
The Cardinal Quality is outgoing. They’re leaders, self-starters, initiators and are active. These Zodiac Signs are included in the Cardinal Quality: Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.
The Fixed Quality is inflexible. They’re the Zodiac’s most determined, stable, stubborn and powerful. Zodiac Signs including Fixed Quality are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.
The Mutable Quality is adaptable. They’re changeable and communicative Zodiac Signs. The Mutable Quality Zodiac Signs include Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.
Think about how Zodiac Sign Quality challenges the example of lovers’ compatibility given above.
Each Zodiac Sign is either Positive/Masculine or Negative/Feminine. This doesn’t mean that the Zodiac Signs are promoting sexism rather it’s say that a Positive is outgoing and a Negative is introverted. Masculine and Feminine shouldn’t even be acknowledged really other than women seem quieter in the scheme of life and some generally take a back seat to the outgoing man. That was yesterday. Today it’s Positive and Negative.
Masculine/Positive Zodiac Signs are Aries, Libra, Leo, Aquarius, Gemini and Sagittarius.
Negative/Feminine Zodiac Signs include Cancer, Capricorn, Taurus, Scorpio, Virgo and Pisces.
